"Licensed Retail Source"
Re: "Licensed Retail Source"
Re: "Licensed Retail Source"
We'll post something here on our blog when we know more, as I've promised, and we won't stop trying so long as there's hope of getting permission to ship to Australia...and the 20 other countries we've heard from that aren't currently covered by the contracts.
And...DO get the word out about this poll. I have every intention of bringing results to appropriate people, and hope to make this one more way to have those voices heard.

Although, about the only place I could mention it would be the DWF, and I'm guessing you've already posted there about it?

BTW, Patty, I've been meaning to LJ & say sorry you didn't make it to Concertino. It would have been nice to see you.

These are exactly some of the reasons we think surveys are valuable, and thanks for your opinions!
For new figures, I'm curious why eBay seems your only venue, as we expect to continue carrying them all, and I've never had an issue with parcels we shipped to Russia.
You may want to contact us directly in e-mail at salvom@prodigy.net or mikescomics@mikescomics.com to discuss further, as I expect we can help you.

Which Doctor Who Classic Series Companion from stories with the first three Doctors would you like to see as a 5" figure?
Jamie
The "right price" is subjective, and up to what you think is "right."
However, we were also shooting for some hard "yes or no" answers here, and didn't want to do this for every question. Part of this is based on what little we feel we know about the discussions within the supply chain or from the BBC, so it's more useful in some cases to ask it differently.
And there's still the "I don't know" option if price is a factor on those other questions....
Of course, as much as we crammed into this survey, it's too easy to add too many more questions and options. When we present data from this, saying "80%+ of people taking the survey want another assortment of Doctor Who Classic Series 5-inch figures," that's pretty clear. We didn't want to dilute the strength of some answers too much with too many similar options...giving, say, two 40% answers instead of one showing 80% gives a weaker message. So, in this case, we want to collect enough info to tell them to be price-sensitive, on a product where price has already entered the discussion, but we wanted to leave things simpler for other questions. We want the core message of what the customers want to get heard.

That this line was considered a risk points only to the ignorance of retail buyers.
And I'd like it noted for the record the the reported peg warmers from series one are the "monsters" that "kids" "want" so much

I'll attempt to get them through US retailers on the day
If you want the 2009 Exclusive SDCC Doctor Who figures and can't get expect to get them through a licensed retail source, what will you do?
Be pissed.
I want companies to really reevaluate "EXCLUSIVES" I don't like being excluded.
I don't care if it's some paint variant of a character available elsewhere, like a green shirted 9th Doctor but when it is a unique character that l risk missing out on if I don't have the money to buy it immediately.....then I get anxious and frankly I'm getting to the point where I'm gonna be done with toylines that cause me stress to collect.
I refused to even start with Mattel's DC and MOTU since they seem to thrive and making it difficult for people to find and then if they do find, ENJOY their products.
If it avoids a price increase, will you keep buying Doctor Who figures if the 5" scale is discarded for all future releases in favor of a smaller scale like 3.5" or 3.75"?
NO
A. I'm disinclined to start over at a new size
B. I doubt the cost to consumers will go down even slightly, so we''ll probably be getting less figure for the same cost.
C. Most of the characters I want won't make it to the new scale since we've already been told they're going to focus solely on doc 11's adventures.
Would you keep buying Doctor Who figures if both 5" scale and a 3.5" scale are offered?
YES
I have no problem with other scales being added when it does not affect my primary collection. Same way I didn't have any problem with the Micro Universe, the Time Squad, or the Sixth Scale line.
Do you want to see more Torchwood figures?
Yes.
As long as SFC continue to make gains in the figures production quality.

Yes
Though truthfully this talk of scale changes has tempered my enthusiasm for the 2010 lines greatly.
Are you looking forward to a figure assortment containing the 11th Doctor's first Companion?
Yes
I'm always interested in companion figures.
Would you buy a 5" scale boxed set of all 11 Doctors?
Possibly
If it was the only was to get ALL of the Doctors in 5 inch size then yes .
Would you buy a set of 10 Classic Series Companions figures?
YES, YES, YES !!!!!
The companions are where I relate to the show and form my attachments. To me the Doctors can become interchangeable but there is only ONE Donna, Jackie, Mickey......
Which Doctor Who Classic Series Companion from stories with the first three Doctors would you like to see as a 5" figure?
I think Susan, as the first companion should be made.
Jamie should be made.
Personally I'd like Victoria.
Jo Grant and The Brigadier seem to have been the most important 3rd Doctor companions.

Re: survey
Thanks for this feedback with your answers...it's *extremely* helpful!
This looks a little like one of my shorter letters to Underground Toys. You can tell from the choice of questions here we think it's important to get collectors to have these opinions heard, regardless of their specific opinions. Every voice added to ours helps make the case for more offerings, or speaks to what Character Options should do as a company to satisfy their Doctor Who customers in the long term.
And, I agree, exclusives exclude. Excluding every corner of your customer base, each in its turn, eventually excludes them all. What ever happened to a special production run at lower pricing as an introductory offer to grow sales?...to be IN-clusive? I'm not sure we'll get that answer here, but this whole survey is about the fans and collectors who support these figures and toys. Thanks for helping put numbers behind these questions, and please feel free to tell others to stop by!

Actually a Classic Series UNIT wave or 2 with the 3rd Doctor, Jo Grant, Liz Shaw, Sarah Jane with short hair and leather coat (a la Invasion of the Dinosaurs) a build a figure Bessie, a build a figure classic TARDIS console, the Brigadier, Benton, Yates, the original Delgado Master, generic unit soldier, some Axons, Autons, Ambassadors of Death, a Daemon, Omega (just to mention a few random enemies) to fight against would make for some great toys for kids and collectibles.

My opinion on the matter:
I am not particularly fond of smaller scale figures in general, not that there is anything intrinsically wrong with them, it is simply a personal preference. I like the 5" figures and hope to continue to collect them. I would not purchase smaller scale figures as I feel they would be out of place displayed alongside the existent format. I would buy the 5" figures exclusively should both scales be offered. My wife and I would both like to see a Jamie companion figure offered. We feel poor Patrick Troughton is only half a doctor without him.
